So what is the theory behind this plenum.

Spacers are used to raise the front of the original plenum to allow more air under the plenum and to the front of the plenum.

This sucker replaces entire plenum and bolts up directly to the cylinder intakes.

What's the point of CF sides? Why not make it one piece plenum?

^^It seems like the design of the Cosworth is meant for high rpms/boosted applications. On an N/A setup, it seems to give similar gains to that of a basic spacer, which is a much better back for your buck imo. High boost applications have seen over 30whp gain up top.

The cf caps (besides bling), are supposedly there for serviceability and to give tuners to opportunity to do further custom port/polish to the velocity stacks for individual setups, but dunno fer sure.

Really? On 500 whp cars they are gaining only about 13 whp with this on my350z. The SSV (even though it is heavily bashed) makes more power than this on high boost applications. Also, many are having problems with keeping the thing properly sealed and not leaking.

I still love this setup though.

How's ur reading comprehension counselor?

"Now for the results, with testing performed at low boost.
The overall peak power increase was a modest 13whp, but the change in power at 6600rpm is a huge 30whp. The Cosworth plenum definately flattens out the power curve towards redline, and results in a larger power gain as redline approaches."

Injected's test: 2005 350z with Turbonetics Kit, ~8psi

Run 051 --- Stock Manifold
Run 053 --- Stock Manifold w/ Plenum Spacer
Run 048 --- Cosworth Plenum

10+whp gain from 5300 up
~30whp gain at 6300rpm over stock!

This looks promising for the high revs, 7000+rpm tests coming soon

And the only person to have "sealing"/leaking issues was eagletanggreen, and he blew up his Crawford plenum on the same setup, so. Others are running it at high boost w/out issues (check with injected).

To say that the SSV outperforms the Cosworth on boosted applications is, well..

jonnylaw thanks for the pictures. I love the look of it. I am boosting my G this summer and from what I have read this is the plenum to go with on a boosted motor. I can't wait!!! Thanks again for all of your input.
