MPG will suffer horrifically with the addition of a z-tube.

I keed. I keed.

In all seriousness, it's likely you'll get worse MPG due to changes in driving habits.

The extra growl will cause your foot to play with the accelerator more, accelerating wildly just to satisfy the desire to hear more. Your gas mileage will suffer greatly!

Agreed.

Theoretically, you should get a gain (more than likely minute and undetectable) in gas mileage. However, as said above, the fact that you will hear that amazing sound that you have never heard before, you will decrease your gas mileage by driving it like you stole it.

the only thing that will improve MPG is a lighter foot and weight reduction.

ummm, no. it's a round piece of plastic that replaces a more muffled round piece of plastic.

even if there is a VERY minor gain, it would be too insignificant to notice.

If you combine the z-tube with a JWT pop charger, MPG will go down drastically!!! Somehow that combo added 10 lbs to my right foot...

Gas mileage improvement with mods....sorry!

Installing the Z-Tube is kinda like installing an aftermarket exhaust system,
you brain listens to the sounds and enjoying it your right foot reacts. Unless
you're hearing impaired mods will not increase gas mileage....

it's not really a rumble... more a high pitched whine/whistle
