Pop Charger Sound

I am a relatively new G35 owner and do not want to do anything drastic to it, but a few extra ponies would be nice. Ive read a little about this pop charger, but what exactly does it do? And ive read that it makes and unpleasant sound?
Any info would be great.
Thanks

Re: Pop Charger Sound

pop-charger adds about 5-6 rwhp and makes a slight whistling sound (while sucking air in) when you hit the gas at low rpm but goes away in a second or two. It's not bad. You won't even hear it with the windows up or radio mid-level.

Re: Pop Charger Sound

unpleasant sound? NO NO NO... the Pop-charger makes music to your ears! Like he mentioned, there is the whistle sound when punching throttle as air is being sucked in. Also, when you work your way up the RPM guage, at about 5k-redline you will hear it GROWL (best put).

If you are looking to add a few ponies while sounding stock, I suggest going w/ crawford plenum and a grounding kit. Pricier, but it's what you want.

Unpleasant ???? Hell no, it's like a symphony....
The air sucking whistle is awesome, kind'a like a jetty sound. Then when you reach 5000rpm, a whole new beast comes out to life. My favorite thing is passing cars at WOT, the faces on these poor miserable people is just unbelievable

Anyways, this is my install. At the end of it, you will find few video samples that will give some idea about what the sound is like: My JWT Pop Charger install

Re: Pop Charger Sound

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that most of the gains were from the Z Tube portion of the Z Tube/Pop Charger combo. I thought that the gains from the PC were minimal (like maybe 1-2 hp) and mostly for that oh so lovely whistle.

Live in the MD/DC/PA/VA area?

Re: Pop Charger Sound

No one really knows what the gains are, if any, from the z-tube. I know for a fact though that the PC gains are 5-6rwhp. Consider yourself corrected.
