Hfc On A 2004 Sedan

I searched and searched got some questions answered but not all of them...

Im planning on getting HFC on my sedan but was wondering if i am going to get the CEL on???

I want HFC cuz i dont want any more loud noise (have enough with tanabe exhaust and 5/16 spacer).

Which one would i not have any problems installing and would be good quality??? Heard crawford or berk are good??? Much thanks for the response...

I don't know that adding HFC is going to make your exhaust system quieter / reduce "loud noise". If anything, it might make it deeper.

I ran Crawford revised HFC on my 03 sedan for almost a year. I enjoyed the increase in power (mostly mid to high end) but in the end, I didn't like the rasp and bassy note my combination had (HFC, aftermarket Ypipe, coupe middy and HKS rear section).

Maybe ditching the tanabe and going with HKS or Greddy might be more what you are looking for.

from my experience with the Crawford it will not make your system quieter. There will be a rasp at WOT. My crawfords lasted about 15k before the bricks broke up.

Since then I've done a custom solution.

Why are you installing? breathing = power? Mod for the sake of modding?

You gotta give up some comforts for the goodness.

Crawford here - no problems so far *knock wood* (but that made me cringe Ted)...

They added a bit of growl (deeper tone) but not as much as I was expecting... Stillen gen 1 exhaust... HFC provided a very notable amount of trq - but definitely did not (and wouldn’t expect it to) make anything quieter.

Ted, I hope I'm not jinx by reading your experience with Crawford

I'm in the market for a Stillen Gen 2 as well, and might get a set of HFCs to go with that depending on how loud it'll be. Post some clips when you get yours

Yeah that's right lol, sorry just saw the link! We have the same wheels. How much quieter would it have been without the HFC. How much power increase did u feel?? Worth it?

No CEL after CATs went on.

The noise thing is a crap shoot man...they will all increase the sound. You will have to get them and install it to really see if you can deal with the additional noise

just make sure you like the sound of rest of ur exaust setup first(headers & cat-back). then when you get HFC's it's just gonna add to what ya already like. that's one of the main reasons why i got the Gen2 Stillen over the Gen1(louder), i knew i was gonna get headers and possibly HFC's. now, you might think my setup is too loud BUT the clips i posted are of me reving, as i'm sure most clips you'll find on the net will be. hell someone revs a stock exhaust it sounds louder than it really is day to day. ya smell what i'm cookin' here???

I ran a set of Kinetix HFC's on my car back when I had a Stillen SC and the borla exhaust. They did not trip a CEL but did make it quite a bit louder.
