you can on mine.. i removed the bumper liner styrofoam piece so more air would get into my filter.. I don't think it's necessary but seemed like a good idea to get more air.. the piece that looks like a tube, you'll se the hose connected to your stock gtube and you just connect that to your new one

is the hose gonna reach all the way down there?
because the piece that looks like a tube is on the long part of the intake
