Installed more goodies , gas milage down the drain...

Installed the stillen air box and y-pipe today.

Both very easy installs.

The intake
- sounds sick !
- our stock air box looks like a good design, but im sure this give some small gains
-I really like the design of the stillen box, keeps most of the engines heat away .
- gas milage down the drain cause i just cant stop mashing the gas pedal !! hehe
-I plan on changing the coupling between the z-tube and the MAF , want a dtragiht through one for better flow and will looks better to.

The y-pipe
- I got the cheap ebay one since y-pipe doesnt give much gains for our G
- It did slighly increase the exhaust noise which i like.
- Only H.P. gain I could see is the piping bends are better and the piping is also a bit bigger, especialy next to the flex sections.
- its alsot about 25lbs lighter

My fav G35 pic of all time.

I dunno man something is wrong with your car or your tune IMO

Also to get a acurate reading it should be done back to back on the same day temp and etc..
There is alot of things that can throw dyno numbers off

My friend did the same setup i have on his 05 last year.

I tried looking for the sheet, the place he dynoes was victor research in east hartford but they closd down. He has before and after and the results were oposite of yours.

Ill have to agree with JJ, this has been tested numerous times and the stock airbox does give the best most gains, it just sounds like ****.

The dyno of the Stillen airbox were from Trey Hutchinson who's probably spent nearly $1,000 on dynos over the past few years. He's also one of the sites most avid drag racers. He recently had a very long post in the review section about his results with the Stillen airbox at how it actually hurt power. He also noted better ET/MPHs running with the stock airbox vs the Stillen and Klubbhead's (another avid racer) has noted the same thing with his modded 04 6MT. Trey owns an 05 with most every bolt-on and tuning. I've also seen two other dynos showing the Stillen CAI gaining next to 0hp or 1-2 hp at various points along the curve which means the car isn't any quicker.

Like others have pointed out, the Stillen CAI and other intakes sound amazing, but that's where the "gains" end. There's no real power to be found with or without tuning. Many would probably disagree, but people like Trey and Klubbs actually test these things out on the strip and dyno and the data points to no gains.

Nah...that's not mine. I just gave you some plot to see so you don't be surprised seeing your own plot.
