1/2 compared to 5/16" plenum spacers

Sorry this prob comes up many many times but im planning to get a spacer but debating whether it should be the 1/2" or 5/16" spacer...i heard the 5/16" spacers will fit fine with with the engine cover but i hear the 1/2" will fit also but very "SNUG". When they say "SUNG" is that mean you shouldnt use the cover anymore or will it be just fine?

Wrong section, do some research in the "Engine & Drivetrain" section --> Intake & Exhaust. . .

Hi Repin,

Do you have the Coup or Sedan?

With the Sedan it will fit with the 1/2" spacer no problem but with the Coup it sometimes fits and other times it won't.

It depends on the tolerance stack up of your carticular car. Sometimes the engine sits lower in the engine compartment. Sometimes it sits higher.
Its all about normal variability that occurs between coup to coup.

You won't know until you try.
And because of this variability, I have to advertise it as not being able to fit.

Tony

TONY,

Thanks a lot. Yeah i have a '03 coupe so i'm prob going to go with the 1/2" and if the cover doesn't fit than i might get a half cover or something...haha and idk if you have any recommendations between brands but which brand do you perfer...powerlab, MD, or skunk. i hear powerlab has great quality but seems everyone has the MD spacers.

lol seeing that Tony IS Motordyne I'd say he'd recommend his product. . .

I for one would say Motordyne all the way, so much R&D into their products backed by excellent results and customer service!

Mrev

and i was wondering now that since i don't have a revup engine cause i have a 5at coupe that getting a MREV plus spacer is useless or that i should just get the spacer alone. is this actually true or would the mrev PLUS spacer would be fine?

Thanks alot guys,

my first simple mods that im tryign to get into
