350Z HR Y-pipe installed on a 2003 G35
#706
Just got an HR y-pipe here. The difference in sound wasn't that big IMO. Definitely way more of a difference when going to a coupe midpipe from the stock one. But the difference in performance does seem noticeable. Not in the low end, but in the 4500+ RPM range it seems to pull harder just like the dyno shows. So if you're looking for sound, get a coupe midpipe. High end performance, get the HR y-pipe

I'm debating between the HKS muffler and Hi-flow cats.
I haven't done much research on the muffler benefits, but I'm pretty sure the cats add a substantial amount dollar for dollar, I think the berk cats cost about the same as the muffler, go figure.
To me the muffler is just for the bling, it may be a better idea to run cats and have the muffler exterior polished, then altima muffler tips...

Just got mine installed cheap last week by a local mechanic.
The throttle is def more responsive and cleaner.
Sounds the same to me, but worth the $130 I spent for the pipe and install.
It doesn't lag as much as before when I get on the gas now.
It has actually made shifting through the gears easier, I'm no stranger to MT but the clutch on these rides isn't the easiest to master.
If your like me and don't have the tools or space to do the install yourself go to your local mechanic, don't bother with the stealership.
It should cost $30-$40 and take about 20 min.
It's a really simple swap if you have the right tools.
