i wonder if these kinds of problems occur with the kinetix plenum as well. i would agree with previous posts that overtorquing (like your 16) or a double gasket solution is no the best. there are torque specs for a reason, and from my understanding, overtorquing anything with a gasket is a big problem (leaks, etc).

Yes, those are from the factory service manual. I have it too.

This is from the service manual too. Definitely much tighter tolerance than 1/16, 3/16".
