Man right now its past the fun!!! Its getting to be a pain in the a**. I was going to take it to dealership but its way to much $$$$ so there is a shop down the street from my house that works on nothing but Imports and the prices are half of what the dealer quoted me.

Did you say you take the MAF sensor out and it idles fine? The exhaust alone is not going to do this to the car. This definitely sounds MAF related.

Unplugging the MAF would cause the car to run open-loop. If he pinched or messed up an O2 sensor wire while installing, it could cause a bad reading to the ECU and unplugging the MAF would solve it.

You didnt have to uninstall or re-install the O2 sensors in the new exhaust? I work on cars, but haven't done much on G35 exhaust. But Im familiar w/ how the ECU works. Failed O2 sensors usually dont cause the ECU to run open loop, but an unplugged MAF will

Naw the O2 sensors are on the Exhaust manifold and that connects to the Y pipe.

When you start it, is it giving you a check engine light? Or even without it running but w/ the key on?

I'm not sure if it would solve your problem but my 04 was doing the same thing and after an Air Idle Relearn it was fine. No idea why an exhaust change would cause that problem but it's something fairly simple you could try. There are some threads on here about how to do it. My dealer did mine for free.

If the CEL is on, unplug the MAF so it will run and take it to Auto Zone and they'll run the codes for you for free. Should give you some indication of whats going on
