Custom exhaust idea/ in need of yours.

I recently installed the Kinetix racing HFC's. I still have the stock muffler and resonator's. Im curious if anyone has ever went custom with theres for there own unique sound to their taste. I was wondering if I could get a 3in Flowmaster or Borla muffler then exit to the rear with two straight pipes with nice tips.

I was thinking it would go from the HFC's then Y into the 3in muffler then Y back out to the rear with two straight pipes. my only concern is that it would be restrictive and with the two (2 to 1) changes pre and post muffler.

The sound im looking for is more of a deep, but not so loud Growl and not that raspy high pitched 4 banger Slow and Delerious sound.

ive youtube'd just about ever exhaust clip and I havent come across many I like, except for one that is supposedly fake.

I looked into doing this as well, my thought was to go with "off the shelf" HFC and y-pipe to start things off. Then I was going to use a 1-into-2 muffler from DynaMax which would then be followed by straight pipes out to tips to finish it off. I figured I would start there and if I felt it was too loud or raspy than I could easily splice in additional resonators or mufflers to level out the sound and flow. I was going to use 2.5" piping.

I youtube'd numerous sound clips of the dynamax and seemed to like them the best compared to flowmaster, magnaflow is also a good choice too.

thankyou for your reply. im going today to have it done when I get off work. Im going with a Single 3in Flowmaster muffler and removing both resonators. then it will Y out to two nice tips. my new sister-in-law is a GM there and its going to be cheap. plus im a big fan of custom so ill have just have to wait and see how I like it. Ill post some sound clips once im finish and take a undercarriage pic for you/others to see. again, thanks for the reply.
