A slightly different exhaust question
A slightly different exhaust question
Hi guys, I have a sedan and I was looking at getting an exhaust. I installed the Stillen and found it to be too loud (that "drone" thing). I heard SkeletonCru's Borla on his sedan and I think I've come to the conclusion that I like a nice quiet exhaust (stock) sound just fine. My popcharger makes my car sound mean enough.
So here's the question, I want to get the performance gains of a freer flowing exhaust but I don't necessarily care about the sound that comes with it. If there's a catback out there that gives the performance gains but doesn't really get loud until above say 3500rpm, then that's cool with me. Anybody have any suggestions on this? Would an aftermarket Y pipe accomplish this going through the stock resonators and muffs? Any help would be appreciated.
Andrew
Re: A slightly different exhaust question
Get the Y pipe and remove the stock pre-muffler and go staight to the stock muffler.

Re: A slightly different exhaust question
what he ^ said except add in a Magnaflow resonator (I recommend the 10436 22" one), as it will be loud without a premuff.
