Re: crawford high flow cats

I love them. Installed them last night. They made the car sound just a "tad" bit deeper. No raspy sounds at all. As far as gains we have not got a chance to dyno it again. If you buy cats, go with crawfords. I have tried RT and Helix. You really can not compare them to the Helix, but to RT they blow them away.

Re: crawford high flow cats

I believe the disclaimer is attached to these cats because they have not been tested for on road use. I would bet that your vehicle would still pass emissions without a problem though.

Re: crawford high flow cats

No aftermarket cats are legal on any car with less than 50K miles on it. If the cat is damaged, the law says it must be replaced with the stock cat. With that being said, I have a set of Crawford's on my 6MT coupe. IMO, they should pass any visual test, and from all that I've read should pass the sniffer. I'll find out at my smog inspection in 2008. (In Arizona, they don't check smog until the car is 5 years old).

Anyway, I love the cats, They sound great, and the increased power can be felt. The workmanship was second to none, and the fitment was spot on.

Re: crawford high flow cats

Just remember to save your oem cats to reinstall if you sell the G prior to the factory emission warranty expiration [7/70k] or [8years 80k on cats in certain states/IM areas]

As you can be sued by buyer "As is" doesn't let you off the hook when emission mods [tampering] are involved"
The new defrauded owner can petition the US government to charge you with a Felony as punishment. Usually the $2500 fine plus resitution to oem is punishment enough.

"This antitampering law applies to individuals as well as to businesses. Individuals may be fined as much as $2,500 for each vehicle tampered with, and business are subject to fines of up to $25,000. Note that businesses that sell used vehicles must ensure that the vehicle is equipped with all emissions control devices that were originally installed by the manufacturer."

Re: crawford high flow cats

I love my Crawford cats. I had them installed at the same time with my Stillen cat-back exhaust. Together they added a significant power increase. When comparing my sedan to another sedan with the same mods except cats, my exhaust note is deeper and is not raspy when under load. I love the way it made the car sound.
