Want catback, hate drone

I have an 05 G35x sedan, just put on the 3" Altima tips which look phenomenal but now I want a more aggressive sound. I'd like something that's quiet most of the time but sounds more aggressive when I open it up. My only requirement is that the exhaust have no drone. Is it possible to have a performance exhaust without drone? I'll gladly stick with stock if that's the only no-drone option.
My last car had Flowmaster 40s which had terrible drone so I told myself I'd never suffer drone again
Someone around here is selling just the muffler section from a Megan Racing OE-R catback, he wants $160. Thoughts on quality/noise?

Cheap option for great sound: 03/04 sedan muffler. The 03/04s have smaller mufflers than the 05/06 sedans.

Bringing this one back from the grave.. Dave, im assuming you have tried multiple exhaust setups, would you say that the 03-04 sedan muff will produce more volume than the 05 muffler? I have Z-tube MD Spacer Hr-Y and Magnaflow MP.. So my thoughts are that an HKS or Megan rear might be too much sound. But the stock 05 muff is not quite loud enough. I hope you see this b/c i've been trying to get an answer on this for a while now.. thanks

I'll answer this question for you. Yes, the 03-04 muffler paired with a HR Y pipe and the 05 mid pipe makes a great exhaust note. Nothing like an HKS of course, but probably produces the best sound of any stock part combination. The earlier muffler has a smaller can which is why it sounds different from ours (I have an 05 as well). I tried for a few months to find an 03-04 muffler locally and couldn't. A couple of weeks ago I helped a friend put my midpipe on his 04 sedan on which he also has the HR Y. Sounds great in person.

This was before I installed the HR Y-pipe. As you know, the HR y-pipe adds a little bit more noise. This setup sounds great is a probably what you're looking for. No drone, vibration, etc.
