Question low engine idle

I've got a fast intentions exhaust.

UR pulley set

Motordyne spacer

and injen CAI

My idle gets down to 200 rpms. It becomes very rough at this low of rpms

I have reset my ecu by using the gas pedal method.

Still low low rough idle.

Any suggestions? thanks all

Check your plenum for a possible leak spot.
Make sure all the hoses are plugged back in and make sure the oil fill ring is not caught in sealing surfaces.

Are you sure it really gets down to 200 RPM's? The engine should have stalled if it went that low.

First, make sure you don't have any sort of leaks. After that, though its optional, I recommend getting your idle bumped to around ~850 rpm's.

After my test pipes, along with my other mods previously installed, my idle was a little rough. And decided to get my idle bumped to 850 from a fellow member who had the Cipher.

i'll check tonight and see.

Anyone with a cipher anywhere near the 805? santa barbara area?

i have been stressing on finding out where this knock was coming from, and once i had my car jacked up and i was underneath it wasn't from the pulleys (which i thought at first), and it was coming from the tranny.

I changed the tranny fluid that day from oil from nissan.

It seemed to get a little better but it would still idle low and have that tranny knock.

I feel with all my air mods, and especially since irecently cleaned and oiled my airfilter, that the car is breathing too deap....

again, i'll have to check the idle this after noon once i get home from class.
(I commute on my new piaggio mp3 250).

AGAIN THANK YOU ALL.

+1... the tach wouldn’t read 200... the only way you would know its 200 is from measuring through ECU - and as Henry stated the car wouldn’t hold idle, it would die.

OP if its 2 ticks above the bottom thick line on the tach - that’s 700rmp (which is fine).

If your car is stalling at idle, it’s something other than low idle.

Edit: I just read that you recently cleaned and oiled air filter... if you over oiled, the MAF sensor might have residue on it and that will create issues...

With all those breathing mods I would bump up the idle to 750 to 800.

i think a lot of people get the rough idle around there... mines a little rough, but i can't find anything wrong, i've cleaned the MAF and TB, and ran some fuel injector cleaner through it.

i'm pretty sure it's normal

mine does the same thing. Its very rough and i have cleaned the maf and reset the ecu. To bad the idle adjustment isnt a screw like older cars. It will stall when i first start the car if i dont give it gas. Then if i come up to a light or coast it will dip sometimes pretty low.

everyone has good suggestions here but i always find that disconnecting the batery overnight resolves many issues such as this.

ok my idle is fine. But i have experienced a problem when decelerating from freeway speeds. If i don't engine brake the cars rpms drop quickly and the car will frequently stall out when a hard braking deceleration happens.

I have cleaned the MAF. any suggestions? should i do a TB cleaning?
