Anyone have a detailed How To on K&N cleaning?
I have heard a lot about people over oiling their drop-in K&N filters during cleaning and then running into problems with the MAF sensor. Does anyone have a detailed cleaning procedure on the best way to clean and re-oil the filter? with pics? I know this sounds so basic but when it comes time I want to make sure I clean it right and oil it just enough... I dont want to be the guy with too much oil... but then again not enough oil isnt a good thing.
Re: Anyone have a detailed How To on K&N cleaning?
I did what booger said and it worked just fine. The only tip I have is to spray one squirt of oil on and then let it soak in for about 30 seconds. Then spray on the second squirt, and repeat... It takes 5-10 minutes to cover the entire filter, but you will not add too much oil if you follow this advice.

the safest way to do it is to let it sit overnight on a papertowel. Blot it again in the morning, and no oil should come off. If some does, keep blotting until no more comes off. As long as no oil comes off when you blot it and it is all pink you are good to go.
It is actually faster to reoil the filter cause you missed a few spots and let it dry again, than to let it dry completely when you over oil it.
