Crawford Plenum Disappontment
Well I have installed a Crawford plenum earlier this week, The install went smoothly, except I doubled the gaskets.
Problem is: I went to the track to chart the changes and to my dismay the car was a good 2/10's slower. I expected 2/10's faster. The only setup change was the plenum and a 04 TCM update. The TCM update made things noticeably better. Has anyone expereinced poorer performance by adding the plenum or am I missing something, My conclusion is that I run an Injen CAI and a lot of people are running a popcharger/Ztube with the plenum. I would assume that the MAF sensor reads more air from the short pipe thus telling the ecu more fuel taking better advantage of the plenum since it is down stream from the MAF. My CAI may not be getting the needed air into the throttle body/plenum. Did you guys do a throttle position sensor reset when you installed the plenum. I'm so disappointed I want to send it back instead of my core right now. Please help.
I'm also thinking of adding a side scoop to my aero kit, kind of like this.

gspot35,
What were the differences in ambient conditions?
What was the difference in in the track's surface temperature?

Re: Crawford Plenum Disappontment
Actually it may be the other way around...you may be running too lean with the CAI and the knock sensors are retarding your timing. I origninally had the stillen intake and ztube...well when I installed the plenum it ran worse. Doug at crawford said he'd seen this before with the G and that it was running too lean. So I put the stock airbox in with the ztube and now it runs right. I'm getting a solid 20 hp at the wheels.

wait, is this solid 20 hp dyno proven?
anyways, id say the obvious thing to do is get a ECU reflash. or, you can sell me your crawford plenum and ill go get a reflash =)

Thanks to smcallis for the advice. I talked with Doug today and pretty much got the same response. I think I'll try to add my stock airbox with my injen tube back into the car and try it out again. I'm waiting on my buddy who has a speed lab to contact Technosquare about being a dealer. After that I'll tune the car myself with his help.

Re: Crawford Plenum Disappontment
RugRat, Your ride is nice. So all in all I gather the CAI and the plenum are a good combo, just need to be dialed in. I'm wondering if I just change my injectors if that would full the ecu into thinking it's injecting x amount when it's really injecting y amount. Anyone know what the stock ccm's are?

Re: Crawford Plenum Disappontment
If you're getting the TS reflash theoretically you should be able to tune the combo to run properly. So I wouldnt give up on the CAI just yet. I didnt like how loud mine was so I opted to go back to the stock airbox.
