HEADER INSTALL DEAD BATTERY ?

Yesterday I dropped my car off at a local shop at 9am and had my DC Headers installed at 10pm when they were finished when they went to start my car the battery was dead the guys said that it was only at 3v (what ever that means) they got it jump started and tested it out, everything was fine this morning my car would not start, I asked my neighbor to let me borrow his battery charger, 1 1/2 hours later the battery wont charge..... ? Anybody know what could have gone wrong yesterday so this would happen ? I know they were having a mission to put my headers in they even took a motor mount off and tilted the motor............. Anyways its Sunday and service is closed tomorrow so im forced to buy a new battery if I want to drive my car before Tuesday...... I am just more concerned could they have fu$# something up with the header install................... Any help would be appreciated thanks

Re: HEADER INSTALL DEAD BATTERY ?

Thats an interesting one...

About the only thing I can think of is that they left the keys in the 'on' position all day. Doing this will drain the battery over the course of the day. Discharging your battery all the way to 3 volts will deep cycle the battery and possibly damage it permanently. Don't bother buying a new battery, have the shop that worked on your car buy it for you, its thier fault!

I just took a flat I had to Sears today, and their automotive center is also open on Memorial Day. AutoZone will also do battery checks for you and are open Sundays. Just bring it in and they'll test it and tell you right away if there's something wrong with it.

Yeh, they must have left the key on and maybe playing tunes or whatever.
With the battery being so low, it will need a deep cycle charge to bring it back to life.
