Exhaust y-pipe leaking! What to do?

So my current driveway is fairly steep so my y-pipe barely scratches, after about 9 months of living at my place (and driving in n out) I finally have a leak in my stock y pipe (it seems to be from the flex joints).

My setup is as follows:

06 G35 6MT Coupe
Fast Intentions Metallic Cats
Stock Midpipe/Muffler

I am open to options, but I would like to keep the "stock warble" if possible. So this means change out just the y pipe, right?

Few Questions:
Are there any y-pipes that sit higher up to avoid scraping?
Will getting a y-pipe without flex joints prolong the life of it, since it seems the braids are weaker than solid stainless steel.
If I get an aftermarket y-pipe, is it best to use a product such as a Dr Gas reducer cone since most y pipes have 3" piping and the stock is 2.5"? What happens if I dont and connect it using stock gaskets?
Can anything be put under the pipe to protect it from scrapes?

Thoughts?

i dont think there are any ypipes that site "higher" because then it wouldnt fit right with the system. and if you get a new ypipe, im sure you can use the stock gaskets but they recommend you to use new ones.

i think you should try to find someone local that has a ypipe and buy it and just replace it. stock ypipe is cheap and im sure there are people around your area that has one on the side laying around. If not, i have an impul ypipe thats for sale. PM me if you're interested, its 2.5inch piping and fits just like the stock ypipe except this will give you a different tone to the exhaust system.

Thanks, yeah I am thinking about getting a stock one from someone local... since i may go thru this same exercise in about a yr again if I stay at this same place. I looked at ur impul, but it's a little outta my price range, good luck on the sale.

I was able to pick up another stock y-pipe locally in very good condition... installed it and back to normal (for now)... although it was pretty easy doing the swap, hopefully I won't have to go through this exercise in another 9 months
