January 1st 2009 HFC'S will be Illegal to sell in California!

As of January 1st 2009 all OBDI catalytic converters will be illegal for sale in the state of California. Period, no if ands or buts, no loop holes.

Bottom line, since magnaflow/carsound is located in California they will not be able to sell the cats to anyone in California. None of their dealers will be able to sell to you if you are in California. We (Fast Intentions) will not be able to sell to you if you are in the state of California. I know it is short notice but if you are in California, you have one day to buy these cats. After that good luck.

The good news is the other 49 states in this country do not fall under this law. This is coming down from B.A.R.(Business of Automotive Repair) and CARB.(California Air Resource Board)

I just thought I should put this little bit of information out there for all of you. As we are not pleased about this either, we don't have any choice but to comply with it. If anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to ask...

Thank you, Tony

It's not wierd. It is just their way of getting these cats off of the road in California. They don't want them out there and they make the laws. We don't have a choice.

To the best of my knowledge. However, I will not install them and I will state that they are for off road use only. What you do with them is your business.

We are not worried and we are confident that in the end that all of you will still support us like you always have. We will figure something out, we always do...

Thanks, Tony

Great news. That's the way it should continue to be.

It's ashame that High Flow Cats are "illegal" to sell in California.

They've always been illegal to sell and install for purposes other than track use here in Cali. It's always been illegal to install them on a car and let the customer drive away. I guess they're just planning on enforcing that even more now.

BTW, aren't they supposed to have some CARB legal HFCs out?

none of the HFC for g35 are carb legal... they just claim that they pass emissions in CA.

There's been talk, even on their website, about having CARB legal HFCs, although I don't see any of that around anywhere anymore...
