hks muffler (restrictive oem pipes, single) - 386$
borla catback (y-pipe and mid pipes included, true duel) - 499$ shipped
you'd be crazy right now to buy any other sedan exhaust new right now... this is an absolute amazing deal. I installed my borla about a month ago and absolutely love it. if its not loud enough for you, just get some HFC's or resonated test pipes.
Borla>HKS anyday. even when borla was 850 new. but now that its 499 shipped, there should be no hesitation in your decision...
so pretty much if you have a sedan and you want a new exhaust, buy this one right now without hesitating.

That's a crazy deal. If I had the money I might jump on it, but custom exhaust is hard to beat. Only thing is price difference. They actually got 2 of these available. If you click on the store name, you'll see they have two auctions.
no way, borla is true duel catback exhaust. hks is just the muffler.

Hopefully JeffSe will improve the Borla shortly when he adds flex sections and a true X-pipe to his. The Borla coupe exhaust sounds so much cleaner than the sedan setup because of it's X-pipe.

sorry this might be a stupid question, but it Borla making a new exhaust for the 03-06 sedans? like a second generation one like stillen did...? doesnt make since now that its 2009.
Everyone is different, I guess. If I were 17, I probably would have kept my Borla, but I couldn't stand the retarded volume increase from idle to 4000rpms. It just didn't sound right for a sport luxury sedan. The power wasn't there (guy I sold to gained 5whp on his 6MT) and it caused annoying seat and pedal vibrations because it lacked flex sections. I could only handle it for 2 week before selling. Fitment wasn't that good either.

Right now I'm leaning towards doing some type of X pipe to try to help low end response and torque. Hopefully the scavenging will assist a bit up high.

Yeah, why they didnt' use the X pipe in the sedan is odd. But right now, I'm convinced the drone is from the muffler choice. So I'm torn as to what to change first. Muffler or go to a resonated x pipe up front.. Klubbs had a normal X with the Magnaflow muffler and he reported no drone.

as for drone, the borla i bought from VQHottness. he was slammed, and damaged the big y-pipe responator on his borla. the exhaust shop down the road from his house fixed the damage by removing the resonator and replacing it with two glass packs. Blake himself said the drone was wayyy more minimal after this, and it made the exhaust note alot nicer. i have it now, and its maybe a tad louder than stock borla, but barely. and for drone, i barely have any at all. the only time i hear it is going up hills. none on the interstate... so the y-pipe resonator could be causing the drone...
