borla headers and TD cat back
borla headers and TD cat back
I'm sure this has been answered somewhere and at sometime but I was unable to come up with a defenite answer.
Will the car run o.k. with the header/cat back system with a stock ECU setting or will a TS reflash or Apex type controller be necessary for proper F/A %. I'm worried about leaning out with the pop/tube, kinetix plenum and the exhaust upgrades but no mods to the fuel and air settings ! I'm sure to optimize the hp from the mods one of the two would be best but then again which one?

Re: borla headers and TD cat back
tell ya what , If I'm pissin' my money away then I deal with it. I think with a proper tune I'll see more than a 1-2 hp increase but time will tell. Here's what I'll do, just for you neff. I'll have the exhaust installed with the plenum and dyno the two. Then install the headers and see if there's an increase of more than 1-2 hp. How bout a "big daddy" on the increase ? Any more than 2 and you owe me, any less and I'm buying and crying. I may not see the proper increase without a reflash or A/F adjustments which leads me back to the original question. Will the car "lean out" without adjustments to the ECU (reflash) or other A/F tweeks (apex controller) by opening up the breathing of the car ?
Re: borla headers and TD cat back
Only quote what I read. Eagle1 got squat with the Borla headers, and others on my350Z.com "HATE" the Borla Headers because they produced zero gains. Others have choosen the Crawford, Nismo, DC, etc... and reported good gains, but no one seems to think much of the Borla headers, except you.
BTW, don't do anything "just for me", do it for yourself. This includes doing research, making educated decisions based on your research, and then choosing to spend your money how you like. You came here looking for advice (or else you wouldn't have started a thread in a public forum) and I gave you some. If you don't like the advice, don't take it.
