a guy over at a local forum I post at just bought this X02 exhaust for the 350z. But now he found out that he is getting shipped overseas and will be gone for over a year, and has no place to store his car.

He would give it to me for free if I found him a place to store his car. My uncle owns a huge factory where he stores about 4-5 classic cars, so I can do this no problem. But I'm wondering, how would that exhaust fit my G35 if it also fits his 350z??? Its still brand new in box, but it says that its applicable for both the G and the Z. Does it come with some sort of extention?

I know this exhaust is the knockoff HKS (which I'm planning on buying later on in the year) but I can't turn down a free exhaust. Sure there's people who say it rusts, but this wont be a problem if I only have it on the car for a half year.

So for those who have the exhaust, let me know how it fit. He ordered it from an ebay vender named CX-Lightning if it makes a difference.

 

The X02 exhaust was originally designed for a 350z, so for G35 fitment it comes with a pair of extensions. I believe the tips are still a bit tucked in under the diffuser though, but I could be wrong.

Also it's a piece of junk with horrible looking tips (I've seen it in real life and it's brown), any G or Z owner that's seen or has a real HKS can easily tell that it's a knock off. I wouldn't put that junk on my car just cuz it was free, I could give you a set of spinners too but that doesn't mean you have to put it on.

 

You are going to get the range of answers on this one..depending on your age, the age of your passengers, your tolerance for quality vs bang for the buck...it seems if you are younger and enjoy loud exhausts/like to be noticed you will like this exhaust..if you are older and don't like drone/want to converse with your passengers you won't like it.

 

just wondering GJ, do you actually own/have owned a x02?

i have heard complaints about x02 but have not heard any complaints about x02 specifically droning badly. in fact if you search around many people say it sounds extremely similar to the hks exhaust. with the only down side being the tips not looking as nice and the possibility of rust

 

I've never heard anyone say the HKS and xo2 exhausts sound similar.

I've heard this exhaust and I used to have HKS. They sound nothing alike. If you like the sound of xo2, then I'd go that route and slap on some new tips. Just be warned that they sound nothing alike.

 

Xet-I do not own nor have owned the X02; I have been reading and asking questoins for a while and had considered the X02 until people said they were loud and droned which were 2 things I did not want. Even when I was younger and had mustangs I used Borla/Bassani and avoided the "hey look at me" exhausts.

 

anyone heard the xo2 in person? how loud is it?

 

how can you tell the difference in looks between the real HKS and the X02?
