Rattling/Rasp has me going nuts!!!!!

I have Tanabe Hyper Medallion exhaust with Y pipe, i loved the way it sounded so i wanted to make it a little louder, i ended up getting FI 300cell Hi Flo cats.

It completely Changed the exhaust note now i have Rattling noise coming from the rear and Rasp like crazy when i go over 2000 rpm.

So are their any solutions to eliminating Rasp/rattling.

I think i read resonator would help, but would it affect peformance?

Also thought about the XYZ pipe but i really dont want to spend 460 on just a y pipe!!

I never thought that setup would have any rasp. If you have some sort of rattle, try to re-torque all the bolts down and make sure you don't have some sort of exhaust leak.

umm the tanabe exhaust is very sensitive. I use to have one. Just a put a huge resonator on the midpipe and the rasp will greatly be reduced. the rattling may be coming from the cats touching the heatshield maybe. You could also put some heat wrap on the y pipe and the cats. this will keep the raspiness down as well. these are ther only two options u have if you wanna keep the tanabe. I jus sold my tanabe and got a stillen gen 2. no problems yet.

Hmm heat wrap, Would a bigger resonator reduce peformance?

It sounds like something is loose, I have headers and test pipes and the rasp isnt bad at all. HF cats alone shouldnt rasp at all

Its the tanabe. Its a y-back for a reason. Get a better resonator and you will be much better off.
