stock exhaust mods
stock exhaust mods
I like the note I have now on my exhaust I just want it amplified a little louder. I have an 05 sedan. All I have done to it so far is cut out the mid resonator and put straight pipe in its place it made the exhaust note deeper and more growl I like it. Now i just want it a little louder. Something else I can do to change stock exhaust a little more. Any ideas? Like pieces I can add or take out like catalytic converters? or something?? Or put in magnaflow pieces somewhere. I just want to do one more thing to it to make it a tadd louder and not change the tone drastically.

HR y-pipe. It's the bomb.
How did the sound change by cutting out the resonator? Did it cut out some of the "gurgle" (or whatever you call that sweet tone our exhausts have)? Is it way louder or just a little louder?
Could you post a quick vid of the sound? I'm curious as this is something I've considered.

It kept the same loudness for the most part just made it sound deeper and meaner. I like it and I dont like it. I like the deepness of it and how it sounds more aftermarket and it sounds nice. I dont like how when I first start the car and its cold it rasps. After a few min of driving the rasp goes away once it gets warmed up then I love it. There is already a clip on here if your interested thats where I got the idea.

Uhh ohh.....do a quick search a few threads below this one and you'll find the holy grail....
As for exhaust mods, I've heard someone swapped out the axel back section for an HKS axelback and it sounded great.
It may get really loud since you have a straight pipe. You may want to substitute a Magnaflow resonator if the volume gets too loud that way.
Someone on here has that setup and it sounds sick. One last thing you can consider are either resonated test pipes or HFCs (if you live somewhere where you need to go for emissions tests).
They'll add that last piece to fully open up your exhaust and get it where it should be ....perfect balance of form and function
Good luck!

ok SO i just checked on the hr y pipe it seems pretty cool. From what I got from is it that is doesnt make it louder just deepers but so did taking off my resonator so Idk if it would have an affect on my exhaust.
Yes I do live where i have smog tests so test pipes are no good for me.
So im either going to do HR y-pipe
I may put a magnaflow resonator where the straight pipe is from the old resonator
Now when you say axleback do you mean muffler?
