I installed mine on my 5at sedan and it fit fine. You just have to play with it. On the drivers side I loosened the steering shaft and on the passenger side I loosened the fuel lines so that they had enough play to move them out of the way a make a little more space.

Well there's you problem. Aftermarket headers are made by hand in jigs which isn't a good thing when you consider just how tight the clearances are under the hood of these cars. There are no additional clearance issues with the 5AT vs 6MT. The problem is with the build quality of your headers. Lots of poor quality aftermarket headers have clearance issues with the steering shafts, manifold studs (ie can't get the nuts on), fuel lines (scary), cat alignment, and frame rails.

this is a big time clearance issue.....like it must be off by at least an inch.

i've loosened the steering shaft.

ive removed some sheet metal so the steering shaft can move more, ive pounded some metal outta the way to no avail.......

ive tried every way possible just to get the header in there somehow....and this is on the drivers side! the easy side!

I have some that are called Edge Racing. They fit great and are a copy of DC Sport headers.

The headers are a tough fit. There just isn't a lot of room in the engine bay to work with. I took out all of the studs to slide the header in place, then reinstalled the studs and then the nuts.

Lot of work though.

Sorry to hear about your problem, but lesson learned. You usually get what you pay for. Don't buy cheap sh*t. I'm still learning this one. haha

Wow...I didn't have to remove any studs. They were a tight fit but not THAT tight.

removing the studs wouldnt have done it for me.

these were waaaay too big.

the ports were all in the right spots when i matched them up to the stockers...

from what ive read headers dont do much anyways....

i guess the next time i do them it will be eaiser.

next time ill go with a more reputable brand.

i searched for the edge headers on ebay but couldnt find them....oh well.
