Plenum spacer - bypass valve
Plenum spacer - bypass valve
I tried searching all over for my answer, but cant find exactly what I want so...
I am wondering, is the throttle body bypass valve required for the plenum spacer install or is this just something that helps the air coming into the plenum be/stay cooler and totally optional?
I live in NE Ohio, so obviously it gets cold here and the reason I am wondering is because i dont know if I want to have to worry about flipping the valve.. just last week 2 nights were at freezing or slightly below but the days were in the high 50's/low 60's...

The Coolant Control Valve is not necessary but it will allow your plenum assembly to run cooler.
If you have it, it will be helpfull to have it installed during the warm weather period. If/when it gets really cold outide just switch the valve to the ON position.
Being switched ON position will keep your throttle body from freezing in cold weather.
In the warm weather, the CCV switch to the OFF position will allow your plenum assembly to run a lot cooler.
Its nice to have it installed but it is not a requirement.
