Cool quick question on the Z-tube...

I just got a z-tube for my 04 sedan... BUT it came of a twin turbo Z... it has oil inside the tube itself. I hear that's normal if you have a twin turbo... Mine is bone stock. What can I clean it with? Intake Cleaner, engine degreaser? How clean must it be?

Question say what?

A stock 350z does not come with twin turbos. This car was made into a twin turbo yet it had it's stock intake tube. Make sense?

ight just making sure you knew that cut it seemed that your were a NOOB no offinese

but regarding your question it shouldnt have oil in the intake at all

as for cleaning it just soak it in hot water for a bit and use some DAWN that gets rid of oil pretty good let it dry and put it on

yeah, seems odd. Can you post a pic of the Z tube? Let's make sure you got the right piece there...

That's not right, you have to get air from the turbos to the manifold so there is no way the stock intake pipe could be kept.

so what's next?

The tube looks just like a z-tube... Okay... well, I cleaned it with some intake cleaner (since it's a "intake") I sprayed the clear liquid cleaner inside of the tube and it obviously dripped at the opposite end and came out brown then turned goldish... My question is: How dangerous is it if any oil enters my engine?

sounds like the person may of over oiled the air filter. this is bad since it can clog up your sensors. just clean it very good and you should be ok...

^i agree

for whatever reason this tt z was running the stock intake, it sounds like it just is extra oil. it happened to my old car's injen sri. Just clean it up and make sure the filter isnt too oily and youre fine.
