best Y pipe?
i currently have a nismo s-tune without the y-pipe. does anyone have any recommendations on what y pipe i should run ?
i'd like the best performance for the money... i'd also like to make sure it would bolt right up to my midpipe. anyone have any suggestions or know where i can purchase these y-pipes... i'd perhaps be interested in the nismo y-pipe but where can i find one? i'm very open to other brands as well.

i'm pretty sure performance difference is very mimimum on a y-pipe. It's just the brand and how much you're willing to spend. Don't buy into the bling of the y-pipe, nobody ever sees it. Try to get an HR pipe, i heard it fits and works well.
Motordyne XYZ without a doubt. Tony researched different merge locations and found there was a large difference in both sound quality and power depending on where the exhaust stream merged. Plus, the system is modular, you can run a straight pipe or a hi-flow cat in it.
Motordyne XYZ. BUT his stuff uses V-Band clamps not flanges. I'm pretty sure if you went with his Y pipe, you have to get the connection to your exhuast cut and a V-Band flange welded in. Not a big deal considering Tony's stuff actually makes power.
Not true. The XYZ pipe has 2 THICK flanges to attach to the cats and another THICK flange to attach to the midpipe. The v-band is what is used to attach the module section to the forward part of the XYZ pipe. The v-band never connects to OEM (or aftermarket) exhaust components. Look at the pics on motordyneengineering.com and you can tell.
BTW, I have the XYZ pipe with the NISMO exhaust. The only mod was the 8" extension piece for the NISMO, but you need that regardless of what y-pipe you use.

For the cheap, go with the 350Z HR y-pipe. For true gains, the MD Y-pipe is the way to go, but expensive ($420). If I see a couple more dynos showing legit gains with the MD y-pipe, I'll probably get it.
I just picked up an 06 sedan 6mt.... my questions are:
Since I have the HR engine, do i have the HR y-pipe? or is that just coupes?
What is the purpose of putting a resonator or cat on the MD XYZ pipe if you have two cats prior to that? sound?
Tried a basic search and will continue to look, but thought i would through that out there while i look...
