Plenum question?
Plenum question?
So I am buying MotorDyne G35 5/16" Copper Iso Thermal plenum spacer.
Are there any things I should do for preinstallation, oil change, etc?
After I install the plenum, I have read I need to reset the ECU, is this true and where would I get this done?
Thanks in advance, noob question I know

There is nothing to do before the installation except to make sure the car's engine is cool.
You can download the guide from here.

It's pretty detailed on what needs to be done, but you will need an extended 10mm socket.
I don't think it mentions that in the install guide.

I really wish you lived near me.
Now I'm confused (not unusual). That video doesn't completely match the steps/pictures of the install from myg35mods.com. On the video, they remove the lower plenum, and at the end, they cut a hose and install something there. Neither of these things are done on the myg35mods page.

I personally went with the copper iso thermal spacer so I won't be cutting my coolant line, just bypassing the plenum and sending the coolant through my copper throttle body heater instead. I will still have to remove my lower plenum to install the aramid gasket though. Hope that helps clear things up a bit.

Basically you'll want to do this part of the install if you live in hotter areas during summer, like Nevada/Arizona.
It reduces heat transfer into the upper and lower plenum assembly and helps to reduce power loss as the engine bay becomes heat soaked.
