*EXHAUST* What kind suits your coupe?
I was thinking about getting an aftermarket exhaust system.
I don't know what one to get... I was thinking about getting Stillen, but after hearing about their products I was going to change my mind. I don't know what else to get....
fast intentions
stillen
nismo
injen
hks
GReddy
I don't even know what else there is..
but aside from the exhaust itself what else should I get?
I'm kind of lost when it comes to these kinds of things like, what a cat back is. But.. Yeah help me out with my mods I want my G coupe to sound aggressive. Also things like HFC or whatnot and so on..
Thanks!!

Most exhaust set-ups are cat back...HFC is hight flow cats.

There is also motordyne gamma and shockwave. As for exhaust its mostly up to you eveyone is going to state their own opinions and what they have on their cars. IF your a bit more specific like which gives the most power it might be more helpful. Sound is a matter of opinion as well. HFC (High Flow Cats) added to an exhaust will make it sound louder, Test pipes will even make it sound even more louder.
The exhaust is in this order
Muffler>Midpipe>Y-Pipe/XYZ pipe/H-pipe/X-pipe>HFC or Testpipes>Headers
A cat back exhaust is anything behind the HFC(hence the word cat in it). So this will be muffler/midpipe/y-pipe. This is your typical exhaust.
Y-back exhaust is anything behind the y-pipe(hence the word y in it). So this will be midpipe/muffler.
And So on..
In a nut shell HFC give you power, most of the time dont throw SEL(service engine light) very rare if it happens and you dont smell any fumes from the car.
Testpipes gives you more power than HFC, but almost all the time throws a SEL light but this can be fixed with some anti foulers which moved the sensor back. You will also smell gas from your car. Tespipes come resonated or non resonated as well.
Hope this helps.

Very nice explanation first off... Also nice of you to take the time to give all the information in a concise, straight-forward manner.. Easy to follow..
I knew all this.. I was going to add my opinion and help educate the OP, but you've done it all very well..
Just sharing some appreciation for people answering questions rather than just telling people to search.. Information sharing is what this thing's all about.
here's my .02...
Personally I have HFCs - Berk Technologies to be exact.. Love the sound and power they provide.. The Cats are the most restrictive part of your whole exhaust system (also makes your exhaust quiet).. The High Flow Cats simply allow more air to be displaced from the exhaust system. If mixed with an intake, you'll get some GREAT sound and power.. From what I've read, they provide the largest power increase (exhaust wise) of a naturally aspirated, (non turbo or supercharged), car.
That's where I'd advise you to experiment first.. The sound is different than stock, and you might be perfectly happy w/ that and spend 600 bucks as opposed to 1200-1500 and not really gain much. I know that's what I did.. Got some used High Flow Cats from the marketplace here.. Even found someone local so didn't have to pay for shipping.
EDIT: Just thought of someting else.. I also have a 1/2" spacer.. Where as the 5/16" is great for power and getting more air to the 2 under-utilized front cylinders, the 1/2" adds a nice growl and deep rumble to the ride that is audible.. I also noticed I was idling lower as well when I added it, so the sound was deeper and LOUDER at WOT.. I had my spacer before I added the HFCs so I could tell the difference.. Also, after you get either of these, I'd advise you get a tune, possibly increasing your timing by 2 degrees.. will give you a nice bit of pep to your accelleration.. And optimize your car for all your air mods.

My choice HKS!
The market is flooded with exhaust systems for our cars, I should have asked the questions you are before going thru 5 different systems....Ouch! (2 systems were sponsored) Along with sound how the system is made should be a consideration. Having installed all 5 systems HKS and Stillen were the best engineered. I finally settled on the HKS cat-back system for sound and quality. I don't have HFCs because they became illegal here in CA....what isn't? That's my choice.
