Alright i am getting a tune, but i was figuring getting every bolt on first. I can get the headers for 350$ and i will not have to pay to get them installed. So i will benefit nothing from dc or strup headers with a tune. So say i get a tune, then get the dc or strup i will not gain anything if so how much? IM not looking for like 15hp i just want a lil more power and for 350 bucks its not worth it still. If i do get headers will i lose any power in the rpm range with a tune, then tuned with headers, thx.

I would imagine that full tune vs full tune with headers (say the strups) you might see a 2-4whp gain in some areas, but I highly doubt you will see more than that. You shouldn't see any loses, but if they were to lose any power it would be low, low in the rpm range.

Yea they are pretty money, but i rather go first class and get some gains that will satisfy me.

03threefiftyz i think you would probably hit 300whp with cams and tomei's and a retune.

I'm still waiting patiently to see if Cosworth will every come out with headers. I doubt they will but what a brilliant complement to their intake manifold.

I am thinking of putting my car back on the dyno here soon. My last dyno was with a quickly dying clutch and a cracked test-pipe. Problem is that was at ~60 degrees and those temps aren't happening for a while. I think I could get very close, but I would prefer to be the 1st to get there with stock cams.........yeah I am a dreamer. More than likely I will sell the car for a c6 or FI the car prior to spending 2500-3000 on cams and headers.

You might as well get ebay headers if you are gonna get strup/dc you might as well get a set of Ebay headers. They are basically the same and a fraction of the cost. Spend the rest of the $$ on a good tune.

03threefiftyz, i know that you tune and dyno your car with 93 octane, but do you actually drive the car daily with 93 or do you have a map for 91 octane?

My car always runs on 93 or 94oct gas. I also have 100 and 104 available from a sunoco 2 miles from my house. Lucky me I guess. The gt100 plus (104) is 49.25 for 5 gallons though . I essentially never switch off my performance map. I consistently get 27-31mpg on the highway without any problem . This car only gets driven about 4-5 times a week and less than 100 miles.
