Re: Cold air intake
Zaid,
Stillen's catalog is screwed up on the names of the cold air intakes. One page calls the G35 a High flow intake but they don't actually make one with that name. I spoke directly to them about it and they said they make only 1 intake for the G35. It is called a Cold Air Intake. I just received mine yesterday and hope to have it on today. On their website and by phone, Stillen claims a 5 horsepower gain for the coupe and an 11 horsepower gain for the sedan (I think at around 6700 rpm). In their catalog, they show a gain of 8 horsepower.
You can go to Stillen.com to order but I recommend instead that you get their toll-free phone number and actually talk to someone. They have had a problem with consistency of information among their published literature.

Re: Cold air intake
1ken.. thanks for the info ! I was actually pretty concerned myself.
I liked the stillen but for some reason, injen appealed more to me. Maybe, theyr enumbers played a huge role??? I dunno. I think they have everyone jumping around because they claimed a 14HP gain. To th ebest of my knowledge, I don't think any intake can yield 14HP. On my old accord, I ran 3 dyno's. They were all off by 10HP. SO, I have this feeling this is what injen did to lure customers into buying their product. What also could have happened is that they moded the car more than just an intake and then got the dyno done and showed a 14HP gain. WHat do you guys think? Or should I just go back to sleep ? lol

Re: Cold air intake
Injen is not in the business of lying. There have been many dyno test done by magazines and distributors that produced 15+ wheel-horsepower gains. I believe it if they state it. Also Stillen is the most overpriced Nissan/Infiniti parts manufacturer. Go buy the Injen instead and only pay $250.

Re: Cold air intake
I see from Stillen's images that they've got some sort of plastic housing
the the CAI fits into (or maybe it's just all part of the CAI). http://stillen.com/sportscars_detail...d=23525&page=1 It looks like Injen lacks this feature. Can anyone confirm this? It almost looks like this housing could limit the amount of air available to the intake. Any opinions on this? Also, between Stillen, Injen, and K&N - what's the best intake? They seem to be pretty comparable in terms of price (K&N price not avail yet), so what's the deal?

Re: Cold air intake
I would rather wait for more dynos from members on here with CAIs. So far from what I've seen, there's liek a +2hp difference between adding a cai and just a k&n filter.....+2hp is not worth an extra 300, imho.
i think the coupe's current setup is pretty darned effecient, which is why i want to wait for more actual people dynos (and not ocmpany dynos)
