Exclamation Need help big time

Ok guys I need your help.

I just got a Motordyne 1/2 spacer from a friend of mine. We were going to do the easy install today. Didn't work out that way.

I have already read the DIY's and been to the Motordyne site as well.

Long story short, spacer is installed but the engine sputters while idling. I haven't even bothered to drive it.
I'm sure the problem is a air leak coming from the 6 bolts on top of the plenum. Since my friend didn't have the bolts only the spacer, we were going to use his but his bolts didn't work. Since he has an after market upper plenum. My stock bolts won't work either because the are not long enough.

So I am at the point where I am about to have the complete bolt kit overnited to me from Motordyne because I don't want to deal with the hassle anymore. Or If I new which bolts went on the top of the plenum, I could go run out and buy them.

This is from the DIY:
• Plenum spacer
•18 M6 washers
• 6 large white washers
• 11 M6 x 1mm x 35mm bolts
• 3 M6 x 1mm x 55 mm bolts
• 4 M6 x 1mm x 70mm bolts
• Tube of Loctite

Which bolts go where??? Again, I am not talking about the bolts that go around the perimeter, the 6 that go on the top.

• 3 M6 x 1mm x 55 mm bolts
• 4 M6 x 1mm x 70mm bolts

These are the bolts I need to buy so the air leak will stop because I don't have the correct bolts in there. I would like it if some one could help me out.
I know it may seem as if I already know what I need to do...I'm just frustrated.

Thanks

I'll look around for my install sheet, but it has been a while. If I find I can bring it down to Chick Filla tomorrow. It's too late to go searching out in the garage, but good luck.

Thanks man, I know what I need. I guess I will run around to the parts stores in the morning. Or I might just order the bolt kit from Motordyne....I just can't stand the idea of having to wait a few days for them to send it.

I was thinking more for the sequence of the bolts and which one goes where, but I'll bring it anyway.......if you need it you can have it.

The 3 55mm bolts go in the front 3 holes and the 4 70mm bolts go in the back holes... it's pretty self explanatory, you could figure it out by just test fitting them before to see which ones go where.

I know it's pretty easy to figure out but I didn't have the correct bolts and figured it would be a easy swap off his car on to mine, but since he didn't have the stock upper plenum he didn't need those 6 bolts. And the bolts he thought were correct were letting air out the head. Its all good, thanks for the tip which bolts go where, just need to get these and see what happens.

I ordered the bolt kit from Motordyne, its probably going to take a week to get in
In the meantime I will see if I can get the bolts from a hardware store so I don't have to go a week with out driving her.
Anyways, great to have a beater car.

I'm not entirely clear on this one.
Your friend gave you a 1/2" spacer and you installed it using your stock bolts?

I didn't think it would fit at all like that.

If this is the case, definitely don't drive it like that. Your upper plenum is literally hanging on by a thread.

I have your bolt pack order on the website. It is going out today.
Are you sure you don't want expedited shipping?

My friend sold me his 1/2" spacer and he didn't have the correct bolts since his upper plenum was a aftermarket upgrade. We obviously didn't use the stock bolts because they would be too short. We used what he believed were the bolts that were meant for the spacer. Anyways they weren't correct, air is leaking slightly out of the top six bolt heads. I am NOT driving the car, I have a daily driver. I will wait for you kit to come in, or if I ca go to the hardware store and get the correct bolts since I know which ones I need now, I will try that just so I can get the car home. Since it is at his house.

For the 1/2" spacer kit:

The long bolts are 80mm long
The medium bolts are 60mm long
The short bolts are 40mm long

All of them are 6mm diameter with a 1mm thread pitch.

Your bolt pack is shipping ASAP!

Thanks, I will keep you in touch with what happens, I just have to be patient for now.

Got the bolt kit in, installed and working FTMFW!!!! I'm so happy that it worked. I'm probably going to need a Mrev2 in the near future cus I over torqued a bolt on and its not on really, but surprisingly no leaks. Keep you updated if **** goes wrong. Motordyne trying to give me a deal on the Mrev2??
