Sucks, but now i got a freaking leak on my oem exhaust. It farts and it's irritating me.

Is it dangerous to drive around with a leaked exhaust?

The dealer quoted me 2k to change the whole exhaust.


I'd prolly be better off with an aftermarket.

does the 350z exhaust will fit into a g35 coupe 2003? I found one used.

 

What part is leaking?

The Y-pipe and muffler from the 350Z are the same, but the midpipe on the 350Z is shorter (since the car is shorter)

 

with 2G i would rather go aftermarket. if u r willing 2 spend that much. something like... fast intention? but thats just me though. gl with that

 

what do you guys suggest as an aftermarket that is pretty close to the oem?

I don't want it to be too loud. I really liked the oem exhaust, cuz it was too me not too loud, not too soft.

They said the Y pipe and the muffler needs to be replace.

In the exhaust system, there is the Y pipe, the mid pipe and the muffler ?? is there another part ? I'm pretty a noob in this short of stuff.

What makes the exhaust system?

Dealership for an exhaust leak? That's like going to the Dentist for a flu shot.... Visit your local "Muffler Shop" they can fix the leak for $20+ if it's just a job of welding....they're in the yellow pages. If your whole system is shot give Stillen a call they have a quiet system for far less than what the Stealership wants and it's guaranteed for the life of your car.

Oh, I'd go to Mister muffler to see if they can patch the leaks.

 

If you really need to replace the y-pipe then replace the y pipe. You can find one of those for CHEAP (marketplace). If you need to replace the muffler go to a muffler shop and get them to throw a new one on for you. All in all you could spend as little as $300 on this fix. Or $20 just repairing the leaks.

OR you can follow Gary's lead and go with a Stillen and spend half of what the dealer wants to rape you with.

Ooooorrr you can find a used OEM exhaust here in the market place for practically nothing. People will practically pay you to take their used exhaust from them (this is an exaggeration).

 

This is what the dealer told me, that the Y pipe and muffler has a leak. But the mid pipe also has to be changed because the connections are very rusted (driving in winter maybe the cause of this).

Stillen sounds like a good option, I'll see if the local muffler shop can fix the leaks with welding.

it's pretty cheap .. 500$ ...but i'm wondering does this include the midpipe and the muffler? Since it's only states Cat-Back include y pipe ..... but from the picture I see like the whole system.... sorry for my noob question

well I went there to get a recall done, but the day before the recall, the leak started. So at the same time I asked them to check it out, they didn't charge me anything though

 

From your engine to the back of the car, you have:

2 headers --> 2 catalytic converters --> Y-pipe --> midpipe --> muffler

There is a Canada marketplace here, but there doesn't seem to be too much in terms of exhaust systems there.
