Coupe mid pipe on sedan

HEY GUYS!

Just signed up and I have some questions, I got rid of my 2008 G37S about 3 months ago and purchased an 2005 6 speed Sedan (needed more room). I'm sure it's been asked before but I can't find a thread about it, sorry if I missed it.

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT IF ANY TO REPLACING THE SEDAN MID PIPE WITH THE COUPE VERSION?

HOW EASY IS IT TO DO? ANY MODIFICATIONS NEEDED?

THANKS!

like everyone after me is going to tell u = SEARCH, ok so we'er dont with at

HOW EASY IS IT TO DO? simple, just replacing an exhust pipe

ANY MODIFICATIONS NEEDED? Nope

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT IF ANY TO REPLACING THE SEDAN MID PIPE WITH THE COUPE VERSION? i don't know about the 06 model, but my 03 stock mid pipe looks like a HUGE rectangular box and weights a butt load compared to coupe mid pip. therefore, less restriction for the exhaust witch results in smoother engine and slight performance increase as well as it sounds a little deeper/meaner then stock

and please remember to search before posting, this topic as been covered millions of times

good luck!

there are a ton of post on this, i just did this mod friday. very easy to do in a drive way, alot easier on a lift. just need a 10mm, 12mm and 14mm deepwell sockets and a rubber mallet to take off the old one and put the new one on. bennefits are lights and different exhaust note, mainly between idle and 2k. As far as any modicications needed, yes.. minor manipulation of your heat shield to keep the resonator of the new midpipe from rubbing, just take it off and manipulate the metal to clear the middy with the rubber mallet. it only takes 20-60 min to do the swap.

I don't think you are going to get that much of a benefit, maybe a bit louder. The muffler of the 05 midpipe is smaller than the 03-04. If you want to upgrade your exhaust go straight to an aftermarket cat back and HFC. Do it right the first time.

i just realized you dont have the 03/04 sedan.. keep your middy, the 03/04 benifit the most from this swap or to your 05/06 sedan middy

I wouldn't exactly call it "right" if the owner doesn't want a significant volume, drone, and rasp increase.

although I think all aftermarket exhausts are noticeably louder, i think there are many options that sound much better with NO rasp.
