TopSpeed Pro-1 Exhaust.. Bad Idea?

As a long time lurker on these forums I realize that this has been discussed countless times but I'd figured I get an up-to-date consensus of opinions.

I just ordered the y-pipe back Pro-1 Exhaust from TopSpeed despite the poor reviews due to the drone and I'm hoping I don't regret it; however, for $450 shipped I figured I couldn't beat it.

I want something loud, like, as loud as it gets and from what I've read and heard this exhaust seems to be the loudest.

That being said.. can those of you who have had experience with this exhaust please voice your opinions and reviews?

Thanks! I'll be installing this Monday and i'll be sure to post clips!

It sounds pretty cool, but definitely too droney. Freeways are a nightmare if you even want to be able to think while you drive, or have a conversation without yelling. Your music will have to be turned up 5-10 more notches even at coasting speeds haha.. Just saying it's annoying, but if it's just your weekend car go have fun

Haha actually your thread about your experience was the first one I read that almost made me reconsider the purchase... on my Chrysler 300 I had it was all straight pipes and the drone was pretty bad but I didn't mind it..

For some reason, to me, drone isn't a bad thing... but perhaps my opinion will change after I install this bad boy with the silencers off..

haha the silencers are a biatch to get out.. you need to wiggle them back and forth until they come out, but I broke one in the process so be careful :P. And I liked it for a while until everyone who rode in my car complained about the noise level and it started to get to me on the freeway. Along with a paranoia about cops hearing me, I couldn't drive my car like I wanted to

My boy has it, it's one of those exhausts that turns every head. That's how loud it is. A cop pulled him over because it was too loud. Droning is insane as well, but im one of those guys that doesn't mind droning.

When we go cruising and im like 2 lanes over, i think his car sounds sweet when he guns it. It's deffinately something you could hear.

If you want to fix the droning you can replace the resonators in the mid-pipe with the round magnaflow mufflers. They are offered in multiple diameters, all straight through designs, and obviously the larger the diameter the less drone you'll get.

i.e.

Would that significantly change the external sound of the exhaust?

It would sound smoother, not necessarily quieter, and less like a 4-cylinder.

I have it. It was on the car when I bought it. Sometimes its a lot of fun, others its just plain annoying. The guy I bought the car from gave me the stock exhaust too and I am considering reinstalling it because of all the reasons listed below

On the other hand I dont have silencers for it. Does it sound okay with them in it?
