'05 G35 Sedan vs G35X Sedan Stock Exhaust

Hi All,

I'm thinking of purchasing a '05 G35X and I've done some searching on the forum. I know that the Sedan stock exhaust sound is not as deep or loud as the coupe. However, I was wondering if there is a difference in SOUND for the 05 G35X compared to an 05 G35 Sedan??

Thanks for your input

As far as I know, the exhausts are the same on the 05 RWD sedan and 05X AWD sedan. You can expect the sound to be the same too.

There are easy upgrades to improve the sound though, and even get a mild performance gain too. On the intake side, Look at a z-tube, K&N filter, a CAI, and a plenum spacer. Exhaust side go with HKS muffler with the 05 sedan mid pipe, coupe mid pipe only, or both the HKS exhaust and coupe mid pipe. For more money look at a full cat back exhaust swap, either HKS or Stillen gen 2.

HKS doesn't havea cat-back for the sedan only for the coupe.

They have different Y-pipes. The X looks almost like an HR Y-pipe but without the harmonic balancers, whereas the RWD is more of a T shape than a Y.
