magnaflow and sebring - exhaust help needed

dear all, i am new here. i have recently bought a g35 with some nicely done mods. it has an exhaust setup that sounds very good, but the problem rises at the rpm level between 1500 to almost 2000. the sound becomes very deep and annoying to the ears. can anyways suggest a solution without having to change the exhaust. it has magnaflow x pipe( maybe ) and sebring exhaust.

Well sir it looks to me you have the Fast Intentions exhaust as well as high flow cats or test pipes. The way to get rid of the sound I think you are talking about is to get OEM cats or new exhaust... I had the same exhaust you have but without HFC's or test pipes and it wasn't loud at all. Car looks good BTW other than the blingy wheels.

Ditto. Welcome to the club. I had this concern when I first got my exhaust back in April...I already had Berk HFCs and I wasn't going to get rid of them just to make my exhaust quieter.

my solution....I kept the exhaust and learned to live with the sounds. First thing was my Mom, old GF and all my friends kept giving me complements.

Then I started getting complements from everyone else (folks @ the gas station, EVERY mechanic that's touched my car and folks on the street etc)

Finally, I actually learned how to use the 5AT manual mode shifter much better too when I drive & now I sound like a 6MT lol.

In the end, I've actually learned to love the exhaust for what it is and what it has done to my sports car.

You may not agree with me and that's ok but my advice is to give it a try for a while and learn to shift around the sounds.

If you don't like it, you can always go back to stock as there are tons of folks who want the exhaust you have and will happily offer you their quieter stock exhaust + cash for exchange.

If you do that, make sure you find an HR Y pipe to sweeten the deal

Well, IMHO, you'll have to swap out the mufflers but it looks like someone took out the reasonators. Adding some resonators aft of the magnaflow resonated X should help with the drone you have w/o any sacrafice in performance.

That "should" be an magnaflow resonated X if that's a fast intentions exhaust system.
