Re: Installed my Injen Intake Today with pics

No bypass is needed unless you live in flood area, but the bypass might not even help there.

It's been raining hard on and off for the past 2 weeks now, over here in the bay area. I haven't had any problems with the injen intake.

I looked through the grill at the filter, it does look really dirty. small black dust in the cracks of the filter. Before I intstalled the filter I put the K&N oil on it.

Re: Installed my Injen Intake Today with pics

I paid 275 for the intake, it took me about 2 hours w/o removing front bumper, bc i was thinking about how to not remove it, and the intake takes air right infront of the wheel well completly secluded from the elements like dirt and rain. and i dont hear any rattles i got everything bolted on very tight try checking all your bolts maybe you left one lose somewhere. Hope that awnsers everyones questions

Re: Installed my Injen Intake Today with pics

Hey Kilrmy.....man thank god im not the only one with that tapping noise (although from a different car heh)
The tapping went away during the winter but now that its warmed up a bit the tapping noise has returned, it seems louder from the inside but when i open the hood i can barely hear the tapping noise... i've had my intake kit on my existing car for about 9 months now, all is well though.
I figured the tapping noise was coming from the way the air filter sucks in the air...hmm could be the blow-by valve thing too...

Alright cool. I have been freakin out for a week now with that damn noise. It doesn't seem to really be anything significant. Just a nuisance. I guess it is something we have to lkive with. Oh well. If that is the biggest qualm (SAT Word) I have with the car, I am grateful.

I went for a ride in coolcatG's car yesterday. I hadn't heard the sound of the intake yet, and man did it sound awesome! Totally blows the stock sound out of the water. Any way it's a great add on for the money, I'm dyin' to get one for my G now. lol

Yea, Injen only makes that one model for the G35 in either polished or black i think, but it will work for either manual or auto

Re: Installed my Injen Intake Today with pics

Anyone have this on their sedan yet? The fact that not much rain and dirt will hit the filter makes me wanna get it. However, I do not want to lose any low end just for a nice noise. I had a WAI in my previous car and it sounded amazing, but felt I lost some torque. I wonder if a WAI would be as effective?

Does anyone know if AEM makes a CAI or WAI for our cars?

Wacky Air Intake? never heard of WAI dude, whats it stand for?
CAI wont make you lose low end, no matter which car you do it on...the worst that can happen is it will be the same HP/Torque #'s low-end
CAI brings in colder air so unless you have a really shotty CAI then you would lose on low-end probably, these injens look really good, i like the fact that the filter is down in by the wheel well

Re: Installed my Injen Intake Today with pics

WAI = Warm Air Intake

One that is connected the the throttle body out to where the stock air box is now, but replaces that whole box with a cone filter at the end. It takes air in through the front grill like the stock air box/filter would.

Re: Installed my Injen Intake Today with pics

Rumble,
I was the first one to Have the Injen CAI on a Sedan. WAI = Warm Air Intake (?) Or Short Ram intake I've had both. On my Civic with a H22A transplant I had a WAI because no one made a CAI for my Conversion. CAI defitenly makes more power on my last car CL Type-S the CAI made 25 more hp than stock. On my dad's G I don't notice any loss of torque, Just more better driveability and Way Better sound. I asked my friend Steph Papadakis who is sponsered by AEM if they had anything in the works. Nada This was at HIN Del Mar 1 1/2 months ago. Try calling or E-Mailing AEM direct. remember It's always Supply and Demand. Demand it and they will supply..... Any way Looking at Power Tuner and their Intake shoot out AEM & Injen are the 2 best in the industry. You could wait for AEM or the all talk and nothing yet K&N. But my money was spent on Injen and I'm VERY Happy with my choice. Well good luck and Happy Motoring...... NV-35

NismoV35 > Still waiting on pix for your HKS Sport exhaust man. If you have pictures of your intake as well, that would be nice too. H22 in a Civic, wow, motor mounts like crazy huh? Must have been one real quick Civic. Post some pix of your car and the muff and intake. It would be greatly appreciated!!
