New Motordyne Nova(Dual Vq) Exhaust!!!

I've had this exhaust system for a few weeks now so here's my review/video of it.

Sound: of course this varies on opinion but literally everyone that has heard it has loved it, they always comment on how nice it sounds. I had the Shockwave exhaust before and it got a little too loud for me. So after talking with Tony for a bit, i decided to go with the dual vq system because it is quieter. My first impressions when i installed the exhaust, is that it was surprisingly deep, and very quiet at idle. When I started accelerating, there was a HUGE difference between the Shockwave and this, the nova is very quiet up until 1800 rpm, then it is pretty loud. As far as drone, at highway there is none, or if there is I can't hear it, in the city, there can be drone at around 2000rpm and i'm 5at so its that can make it worse. As far as the actual sound, I love it, its pretty much everything I wanted and more, its deep, yet quiet, and although it drones sometimes, its not unbearable. after 2500 rpms its actually pretty quiet. I couldn't have asked for more. And just a couple days ago, i was driving and someone got out of their car just to tell me they loved the way my car sounded and to ask me what kind of exhaust i had. Oh and from the outside of the car, it is not as quiet as you might think, its no where near the shockwave but you can definitely tell that its there. Overall i love it and everyone says it "suits the car" very well.

Looks: I got the rolled Ti tips with it and i do like them more than the regular tips but thats just me. the mufflers look very nice and people have complimented me on how the entire system looks.
Conclusion: Motordyne FTW!!!!! i love how i can switch out parts to suit my needs.

Customer service: amazing, Tony does a great job of answering all my questions, and trust me, I asked alot of questions. He was very informative and helped me through the entire process.

Quality: it's Motordyne, enough said...

Now for the video (after 1:32 i was trying to show how it sounded at regular speed but it didnt come out as well as i thought, the high pitch noise towards the end of it might be because the note is too deep so the camera kind of freaked out) also the video makes it seem like there is alot of drone but there actually isnt.

Edit for some reason when we uploaded the video of it just reving, the quality came out better so here it is.
Also, the video makes the exhaust seem MUCH quieter than it really is

If you have any questions about the system, post them here and i'll do my best to answer them.

Thanks for the video and review. I have a couple questions myself...

Sounds great, btw. Have any pics of it installed?

And I'm sure you may have discussed performance. Only the dyno will tell, but performance wise this is expected to perform just as well as any of the others in the MD lineup, no?

Nice!! I'm planning on switching to the dual VQ. Do you have a vid with the shockwave on your car?

Hopefully the Nova will reduce some of the drone I'm getting I have the older VQ for my coupe. I do have headers and RTPs though.

Also can you tell if you lost anything power wise since switching exhaust due to the bigger mufflers?

I don’t have any pictures of it installed, but if it’s not raining tomorrow, I’ll try to take some. I have not dynod but I believe it’s supposed to perform just as well as the other set ups, I would have to double check with Tony though.

I don’t have a video of the shockwave but there are a few on youtube. If you have the motordyne vq, as in one large muffler, I’m pretty sure the nova is louder and most likely has more drone. I didn’t feel any loss in power but I have not dynod it so there is I’m not completely sure.

The video makes it seem much quieter, its pretty loud actually. I'll try to get a better clip soon, but the forecast for the next 2 week is rain Its definitely alot louder than stock though

Regarding how loud the exhaust is, I was filming and it was pretty loud. It's a lot louder than stock. I have a flowmaster muffler and my car is a lot louder than stock just with that, and the Motordyne made my exhaust sound quiet.

I see. Ice and snow here.. no fun. I am just trying to decide if I am going to do the V2 shockwave, but I am worried it might be too loud... my car isn't a daily driver though..

are they both really deep sounding, considering you have had both on your car?

Yes, they are both very deep, the main difference between the two is how loud each of them is. At idle, the nova is pretty much silent, whereas with the shockwave, there is a very low pitch that can be heard. Also with the shockwave reacts to the slightest touch of the accelerator. I have not heard the v2, but i'm assuming that it sounds the same as the older shockwave, just with less drone. From what people that have heard my car have told me, is that the nova is also very deep. When comparing the two, i think the shockwave might be a tad bit deeper, but not by that much, the main difference is that its alot louder so it seems deeper. Hope this explanation helped.

Nice right up Yosef. I should come out to one of the meets one of these days and check out your system to see if it's worthwhile for me to move from the Gamma to the Nova. Thanks for the vid.
