^ sad.

sometimes it easier to say it doesn't fit then to spend time to source an X and trying it.

Great question! Anybody know if we can connect M2 to stock cats? I just need a new Y pipe and the 350z option is a tough one to acquire.

Anyone?

You should be able to... regardless if you have stock cats or HFC's.. the fitment has to be the same, otherwise there would be major fitment issues with stock exhaust systems.. defeats the whole purpose.

Yes you can - I run stock cats > M2 Y-pipe > Motordyne VQ on an '04 X. I had a muffler shop install because I didn't want to mess with rusted bolts, but they didn't mention any fitment issues whatsoever.

In my opinion the M2 is the best option for me because my y-back section is 3.00" inlet. If you are running stock exhaust (2.5" inlet or so), you might be better off with a stock pipe since you might run into rasp issues with larger diameter going into smaller diameter.

For me, going 2 to 2.5 to 3 is ideal. Once I put the M2 pipe on, I finally felt like my car was "complete," and apart from the occasional rattle exorcism, I haven't modded since.

sorry for the massive late bump, I noticed AAM Competition was unconfirmed

Well let me confirm that it DOES NOT fit. We had an X customer come in and it does not clear the TC

So I may be a noob, but how can I tell if I have a 04.5 or an 04? Because I know there are some differences in what can fit.... correct?

biggest differance is that the 04 used the old style y-pipe.. looks like a "T".. in the 04.5 they began using the Y-pipe that looks like the HR Y-pipe, but without the "hockey pucks" (vibration dampers).

This can be confirmed by comparing the 04 vs 04.5 Tech Manuals. the 04 shows the "T" pipe.. the 04.5 shows the "Y" pipe.

I have the same question, since I literally just bought both the m2 y pipe and the coupe midpipe....
