cracked or broken cat?

Hey guys.
Ive got a 05 g35x with a stillen cat-back gen2 exhaust.
Got a question about the CAT/exhaust system.

My exhaust tone got alot louder and there is alot of rumbling/rattling near the front doors. Sounds like metal rattling. It wasn't like this before. Is there a way to check for leaks on exhaust parts? When i checked the CAT last time it was on a lift, it was all rusted and the shield had small cracks in it.

When I first got my stillen exhaust installed by pros, they were saying how the cat might crack or break because the stillen exhaust system didnt have any flex build into it.
I think they might be right now.

I think I have either a broken/cracked/leaking cat(catalytic converter).
Im not sure tho.

What do you guys think?
thanks

For exhaust leak check.. Jack up your car and start it.. While idling move your hands around the exhaust piping and feel for air hitting your hand. If you feel this then you're leaking in that area.. Check to make sure all your bolts are tightened down.

By the way you described it, it does sound possible that your cats are toast..

Infiniti has an 8 year/80,000 mile warranty on emissions so you can new ones there OR buy resonated test pipes.

Im over the warranty, got 100,000 miles.
If the cat is cracked, I might just upgrade to a HFC. But im worried about the noise. My exhaust itself is already loud.

You could always throw in resonators? You can find good condition cats for about 50-80 bucks if you want those.. Then sell the ones you got to a cat guy for the same price.

Not sure what a resonator is?
Or I might just look for an used cat and replace it.
