Opinion needed ebay HR y pipe vs rev up y pipe

Guys I am in a situation i can not decide.

First off I spent way too much money on the car already, so im trying to maximize my value.

I wanted to know do you think I should buy a ebay hr y pip 250 bucks and its 2.5 to 3 inch

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ichib...Q5fAccessories

or get a megan racing 2.5-3 inch for 80 bucks but its is the rev up t style. ( dis regard the ebay price)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MEGAN...Q5fAccessories

I need a little more flow, im sure the hr y pipe will make more power but at a little over 3 times the cost of the megan will it make 3 times more power than the Megan?

what would you guys do?

also has anyone bought one of thos before? any dynos or comments on it?

Doesnt anyone know what the inlet and outlet diameter is on our cats?
thanks

Just buy an oem HR y-pipe on the forums. They usually sell for 130. But for me I dont feel that this mod is worth the money. If anything get an full exhaust.

Teh HR version looks to be designed with a much better collector. But do you already have a 3" catback?

no, i need to get that going. I was just going to go to a muffler shop and get 3 inch piping and a pretty decent resonator.

I was also considering a ss ebay 3 inch mid pipe, but i need to keep my car quiet. It cant be any louder than it is now, ( coupe mid with intake/ manifolds)

Good luck with 3" pipe and trying to keep as quiet as it is now.

Because I consider the way the pipes go INTO the collector as part of the collector system.

let's not get into a sematics debate.

If you can afford it, get the Motordyne XYZ y-pipe.

the quality of a merge collector is how the pipes merge (inside)...

You cant tell in the pics posted... the Ichiba could be total crap... if they are baloney cut and of proper length merging inside, that would be sweet... but we can't see it so there is no way to know if its better than the Megan...

BTW, it's not semantics... I'm just stating it the way it is... you can;t say something is better or even "seems" better when you dont have anything to base it on.

I do have something to base it on. I've stated why and my opinion is evident by reviewing each picture provided. I didn't think the Ichiba HR37's Y was too much of a concern. Can you take a look at the pic and point out where it could be a bad design? Unless there's something really oddball inside that the outside doesn't indicate, it should be pretty decent. (not that I was originally commenting on specifically the merge points of the two pipes)

If you think one is better than the other and it's contradictory to what I've posted, you're more than welcome to pick the megan racing unit and make your case. I'm sure the OP would much rather be interested in THAT vs whatever semantics you're trying to get at.

If not, then fine. We'll agree to disagree.

^^^ like I already stated - there isn't enough information (even in the pic you jsut posted) to indicated that one merge collector is better than the other.

I know you hate being wrong... but once again, you are.

I'm referring to this:

so don't go off on your typical tangent trying to divert attention in a direction that is meaningless...

I understand the "debate" about JUST the merge collector. One has to make some leaps of faith here to make a suggestion. Or else almost 90% of the requests for opinion/suggestions would be moot.

I said the HR unit LOOKS to be designed with a much better collector(with the collector definition being clarifed). That is an opinion of preference, not fact.

Again, another useless semantics debate. Make one more post Mike and leave at that. (for the sake of the OP's thread)

^^^ you can't tell without seeing inside - like I already stated...

And I'll post as many times as needed... but it will never be based on your "command".
