Cutting out resonator

Im having a hard time finding someone to ship me a coupe midpipe for my 04 g35X. I was reading on another forum and someone said "just cut out the resonator , sounds good". My uncle owns an exhaust shop and would be able to perform the work. Has anyone done this or have info about it? Also , what are the main differences between coupe midpipe and sedan?

I'd be careful about cutting out that resonator if I were you.

I've heard it becomes ridiculously raspy without it.
Maybe someone else can chime in.

no resonator for stock muffler... ewwwwwww!!! trust me i have an 04x also.
find the coupe resonator, if not, purchase a whole catback, don't regret. or not...... build your own custom exhaust like alot of us did!!

yes, Very raspy. I did that on my old 03 sedan. I ended up buying a coupe midpipe.

You could get your uncle to cut out the resonator and replace it with a smaller, perforated resonator like one of magnaflow's smaller mufflers.

i was about to ask the same thing, but im thinking instead of getting a coupe midpipe for my 05 sedan, substitute the stock resonator for a tube.. does anyone have a clip to see how it sounds? will it add power?
