So I put a set of Megan test pipes on

They sound great but it sounds like there is a rattle snake under the car when I let off the gas. I'm thinking I have an exhaust leak but Im not sure. I just hope its not one the pipes itself and be a bad flex part or something. Its just kinda odd sounding.

When I let off the gas the rattle starts, I push in the clutch and it goes away. I thought maybe the heat shields were what was causing the sound but oh no, that's not it.

Im going to get it on a lift and see if I can figure out the noise, if I have to replace the gaskets I will. Im hoping that thats the cause. Anyone ever had this happen to them?

yep. test pipes will cause a "raspy' or "rattlesnake" noise. I noticed that when you combine it with headers it will be worse.

Ahh, so its not an exhaust leak then? I read that they make the exhaust raspy but thats not what I considered raspy. Hmmm, what to do, what to do.......

Yeah, I got the V2, didnt know it was a revision though. They have the long o2 bungs on them. Worst case, there is either a leak or a loose part inside the test pipe. Ill be getting into this sometime this week, hopefully I will figure something out.

I dont think I got them from Static though, it was someone else.

I have the same noise but I have APS Test pipes and a single Greddy. They say that it is either the flex pipe in the Y-pipe or a that it is the bracket that most people don't put back on after putting test pipes on causes them to shake therefore causing the rattle snake sound.

Hmmm, so I wonder if I were to replace the y pipe to a bigger one if it would make a difference. Ill figure it out when I get under the car tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up everyone!

Sooooo, I think I figured it out. I think it was a mixture of a few things. Like Dubi2087 said, the lack of the bracket was causing some of it, but I did notice that my flex joint on the stock Y pipe is starting to leak which is making an odd sound.

So I took the TP's off and put the stock cats back on, can barely hear the car now. But the TP's are solid, no issues with them at all, so that's good.

I think Monday I'm going to put them up for sale. Hopefully they will move quick.

Again, thanks for the advise.

have you ever thought about the bolt that's for the stock cats?
when you mount on the stock cats there's a bolt that holds it also.
that thing use to rattle on me alot until i removed those two bolt.
if not, check your gaskets, or just rtv it.

Ahh so I see I'm not the only one with the decel hiss! It's kind of annoying to hear all the time, I have borla exhaust and headers with this megan v2, hisses harrrrd on decel, but the power and volume is phenomenal, the pros outweigh the cons
