So today I'm driving the car and I Notice it's louder. I didn't hit anything while drivng but I was leaving church with two people in the back one small kid and one fatter small kid. Anyways As I'm leaving we went over a bump and I felt the car hit somewhere after the front wheels. I didn't think to mch of it cuz it's happened before an it wasn't hard.
So as we leave I'm driving and noticed the car was a bit louder just on the left side. Later on when I parked I open the driver side rev'ed the car a little and I heard the unmistakable sound of exhaust leak. I look under the car while my girlfriend revs it and I heard where it was coming from and I saw that the hanger looked cracked off or broken.

So my question is can I just reweld it, buy just that section (does hks sell individual sections if needed), or do I have to get a completely new exhaust.

Just take it to a shop and have them weld it back together.

Same thing just happened to mine over the weekend, all of the sudden the exhaust got really loud, now it sounds like a Civic ricer exhaust.

The hanger broke off at the weld and left a good size hole on the pipe leading to the mufflers. Will be contacting the shop today, hopefully it's covered under HKS' 4 year warranty. You should check with your shop first before trying to repair it, HKS will NOT honor the warranty once ANY attempt of repair has been done.

 

sorry to bring this old thread up...this recently just happened to me. I was wondering if you guys had it replaced by HKS or if you had it repaired at a shop? thanks...

 

You will just have to take it to a shop to have it welded back together. HKS doesn't sell the exhaust in sections. The only thing they will sell separately is the titanium tips.
