Best Drop In Air Filter

Hey guys,

Doing some research on drop in air filters. I always thought K&N filters were the way to go, then I heard that after cleaning them for a while, they loose their filtering abilities and they supposedly don't filter as well.

I heard good things about NAPA GOLD and AMSOIL EA nanofilter.

What do you guys think is the best drop in air filter in terms of price, performance and value.

(preferably dry filters)

The NAPA filter is paper... While the NAPA filters better than most other filters, flow is not as good. K&N and Amsoil are really similar enough that there won't be any noticeable difference.

Amsoil filters are NOT oiled. That's a big plus in my books.

I just bought an Apexi drop in for $27 from one of the vendors. It took about a week to get to me but I was told that from day 1. I was actually told it would be around 2 weeks or so before I received it.

It says apexi air filters are "zero maintenance. Sounds too good to be true.

Did you feel a noticeable gain in sound? I doubt it will really gain any power but if it sounds good, I might pick one up myself. Can I also know what vendor you got it from? $27 sounds like a deal!

Not that much more sound but I do feel a lil better throttle response because the stock one was horrible. I padded it on the ground and dirt fell out like crazy. That sucka was clogged. Now she can breath a lil bit better. Also you can't beat $27 shipped for a great filter. His name on here is Kyle(houston) and the website is Import Pro Parts http://www.importpartspro.com. I didn't know he was a sponsor here I was just searching the product # for the filter and found that website. His communication was awesome and quick

You will not hear a difference with any drop in filter alone. The G35's stock intake has chambers that quiet the sound, but you can eliminate this and get a more aggressive sounding intake by switching out the "g tube" for a "z tube".
