HR 350Z Cats

Hey guys

I was offered a free set of 08 350Z Cats.

Would they fit my 04 Coupe. Would they make a positive difference?

I love the oem exhaust note, so I don't wanna go test pipes (resonated or not) cuz of the rasp. And I don't wanna go HFCs because they are not free like the 08 cats offered to me lol.

I've used the search, and the only info I can find regarding swapping OEM exhausts with Zs are the 10000 threads about HR 350Z Y-Pipes.

thanks!

Good question, I'm curious, too. Didn't see anything during a quick search at my350z and myG37.

Gathered info on the early gen and 07/08 HR 350Z. 03 vs 08 cats are same pipe dia and same case size. I'd say no change.

Take em and flip em. Get hi-flow cats if you want no rasp. I have res TP and I have none. You heard it before.

From what I can glean from this thread and this thread, the HR cats only fit HR manifolds (different bolt pattern from pre-HR), but as a set they should interchange. So it seems one could bolt up HR cats if you do manifolds at the same time. What I don't know is whether HR cats flow any better, but even if they did, it seems like a lot of trouble when you could just go with HFCs.

Yep correct, I forgot to mention that the header for the hr is a different bolt pattern to the cat.

I guess HR 350Z Y-Pipe is still the only Z OEM Exhaust part worth swapping to the G (and coupe or z mid pipe for G Sedans)
