test pipes or high flow cats

i just found out my test pipes on my g have a crack in them so now i either need to get new tp's or hfc's. my tp's were very raspy and im not sure if it was cause of my setup or just cheap test pipes. Any advice would be great! Thanks Guys!

I'd stick with test pipes, just go with resonated ones to prevent rasp.

I guess it depends on what exhaust you have.

Keep in mind, most exhaust systems (except for Motordyne) were developed with the stock cats in mind.

Anyone who know's exhaust will tell you that it's not the job of the cats of test pipes to suppress noise. That's what mufflers and the overall design of the system is for. The sound suppression in HFC's is just a side affect of slightly reduced flow.

I've had my Megan resonated test pipes V2's (avoid the V1's) for about a year and over 300 passes at the strip along with a broken engine mount and has still held up fine. We've seen people with expensive HFC's and expensive test pipes crack on them with just normal daily driving and no track runs. That's just my experience with them. Others may differ.

Hey, If your gonna be illegal, might as well go all the way!

Motordyne ART>all HFC's and traditional test pipes.

Megan stuff is a lot better than most people think now. They're using better materials and their welding is a lot better now than a few years back. Purely a price point product but still decent.
